Israel launched an airstrike on Yemen's capital Sanaa
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched air strikes on the Yemeni capital Sanaa. This was reported on August 24 by Al Masirah TV channel.
"On Sunday afternoon, airstrikes were carried out in various areas south of the capital Sanaa, which led to loud explosions that shook nearby neighborhoods," Al Mashad Al Yemeni newspaper said.
According to eyewitnesses, about seven explosions occurred near the city. It is noted that the strikes were carried out on a power plant and an oil refining facility near the capital of Yemen.
The Jerusalem Post newspaper, citing sources in the Israeli security forces, added that the IDF launched airstrikes on Sanaa in response to rocket launches on Israeli territory.
On August 17, Reuters reported that at least two explosions occurred in the Yemeni capital near a local power plant. The causes of the detonation were not reported.
