Cargo Dragon with supplies for the ISS launched from the spaceport in Florida

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and SpaceX launched the Cargo Dragon spacecraft in Florida to deliver research project materials, supplies and crew equipment to the International Space Station (ISS). The broadcast from the event was conducted on August 24 on the NASA Youtube channel.

The launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle as part of the 33rd commercial cargo delivery mission took place from the Cape Canaveral cosmodrome at 02:45 local time (09:45 Moscow time).

Thus, materials aimed at testing 3D bioprinting of an implantable medical device, observing the behavior of artificial liver tissues, studying the effect of microgravity on bone-forming cells and 3D printing of metal in space were sent to the ISS.

According to NASA, Cargo Dragon will dock at the forward port of the Harmony module of the International Space Station on August 25.

Earlier, on August 5, the American brewing company Starbase Brewery announced that it had initiated an experiment on brewing beer in space on the ISS. Scientists need the project to study the influence of the space environment on yeast and the behavior of the finished product in conditions of increased radiation.
