Russian snipers began to cover the assault groups from the UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Russian snipers have a new task to destroy Ukrainian drones to protect the assault groups. This information was shared on August 24 by a sniper of the Leningrad Guards Regiment of the North group of forces with the call sign Sanych.

"The job of snipers is not just to destroy enemy manpower now, but also to try to cover the assault groups as much as possible, that is, to shoot down birds (unmanned aerial vehicles — Ed.) from sniper rifles at long range," the military told RIA Novosti.

However, the main task of the Russian military remains the destruction of enemy groups when moving in an open area, Sanych added.

Earlier, on August 21, a crew of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) destroyed three cargo hexacopters and a reconnaissance UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region. After the elimination of the AFU hexacopters, the operator discovered an enemy reconnaissance quadcopter, which was subsequently shot down.
