Russians have become 20% more likely to vacation in Asian countries.
Russians' demand for holidays in Asia has grown by 20% over the year, and Southeast Asian countries have become more popular by a quarter. On August 24, OneTwoTrip shared the results of a study of the online service "Газета.ги ".
Russians book tours to Asian countries more actively: they choose housing in East Asia 19% more often, and in South Asia — by 9%. Interest in Laos has especially grown — the number of hotels booked has increased by 320%, in Macau — by half, in Vietnam — by 59%.
Cambodia (+38%), India (+29%), China (+28%), Taiwan (+25%), Thailand (+23%), Philippines (+17%) and Japan (+14%) are also among the most popular destinations.
At the same time, a number of countries have lost popularity with Russian tourists: hotel bookings in Bangladesh decreased by 35%, in Nepal — by 20%, in Myanmar — by 15%, in Pakistan — by 13%, in Hong Kong — by 12%.
Earlier, on August 11, tourism expert Valentina Lyubaeva spoke about a budget vacation by the sea. In the first half of autumn, she recommended paying attention to vacations in Abkhazia and Nha Trang (Vietnam), in the second half — to the Maldives and Dagestan.
