Canadian Prime Minister Carney to visit Poland, Germany and Latvia
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced his official visit to Poland, Germany and Latvia from August 25 to 27. This was reported on August 23 on the website of the Prime Minister of Canada.
The trip is aimed at developing a strategic partnership with European allies and expanding cooperation in key areas.
In Poland, Carney will hold meetings with government representatives to discuss joint projects in the energy, defense and aerospace industries. In Germany, the Prime Minister will meet with Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss issues of economic cooperation and global security.
In Latvia, Carney is scheduled to hold talks with the leaders of the countries, as well as a meeting with the Canadian military involved in Operation Confidence— Canada's largest foreign military mission.
"As the world becomes more dangerous and divided, Canada is focused on strengthening and diversifying its international partnerships," Carney said.
These are Carney's first official visits to Poland, Germany and Latvia.
Earlier, on July 29, the Canadian government announced a possible new trade agreement with the United States. Canadian Minister for Interagency Affairs Dominique Leblanc said the deal was important for the benefit of Canadian workers.
