Protesters blocked the roundabout at the entrance to Obrenovac in Serbia
In Serbia, anti-government protesters blocked a roundabout in the town of Obrenovac on August 23.
During the protest, the participants first painted over large—scale graffiti with the inscription "Terrorist blockers", which was left by opponents of the rallies.
"The second thing was to block the roundabout at the entrance to the city, which naturally caused a huge traffic jam," Sergei Petrov, a correspondent for Izvestia, said.
He noted that after that, the crowd along the traffic jam went to the city center, chanting calls for the resignation of the government. The participants also shout threats against the police and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Earlier in the day, almost 70,000 people demonstrated peacefully against the rallies and attempts to block roads and infrastructure carried out by the opposition and students. The events took place in provincial cities, but not in Novi Sad and the capital of Serbia, Belgrade. Vucic personally participated in such a meeting in the city of Ub.
On August 18, anti-government protesters in Serbia smashed windows in one of the Belgrade offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SPP). It was noted that the protesters used pyrotechnics and threw stones.
