Even staying in Ukrainian prisons did not break the will and did not force the outstanding journalist Kirill Vyshinsky to betray his ideals. This was announced on August 23 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"I learned with deep regret about Kirill Valerievich's death. A courageous and selfless man, an outstanding journalist and public figure, infinitely devoted to his profession and true to his beliefs, has passed away," reads the text of the minister's condolences, published on the Telegram channel of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Lavrov also called Vyshinsky's creative path a vivid example of perseverance in upholding truth and justice, no matter what. The journalist was one of the first to experience the brutality of the Kiev regime because of his beliefs.

Lavrov expressed confidence that Vyshinsky will always be remembered as a talented journalist, a highly professional leader and a sympathetic person.

"Please accept my words of sincere sympathy and support," the Russian Foreign Minister said.

Vyshinsky died on August 23 in Moscow after a serious and prolonged illness. The journalist has worked on Ukrainian TV channels since 1996, and in 2006 became the Kiev correspondent of VGTRK. After the incident in 2014, he became the head of the Ukrainian branch of RIA Novosti.

Later, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Vyshinsky fought against those who do not respect freedom of speech, and his death is a huge loss for world journalism. According to her, Vyshinsky, despite the fact that he went through the "dungeons of the Kiev regime," found the strength after his release to continue fighting for others, for his comrades.
