- The musical album of the theatrical circus show "Pushkin's Dreams" has been released
The musical album of the theatrical circus show "Pushkin's Dreams" was released on specialized services. Composer and arranger Taras Demchuk became the author of the music. This was announced on August 23 by the press service of the project.
The compositions combine 19th-century orchestral waltzes and Balkan rhythms, rock and trap elements, DJ parts and folk choirs. At the same time, a special flavor is given by the balalaika and rare handmade folk instruments that sound organically with the cello and violin.
"We decided not to be tied to one era, because fairy tales exist outside of time: music should sound so that the viewer can fully immerse himself in the amazing worlds of Pushkin," Demchuk said.
The musical compositions in the show are performed by virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Anna Mart. She appears on stage as a Babysitter. On stage, she creates a lively, expressive sound, so that each composition sounds like a separate episode of a journey through the fairy tales of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. Thanks to this presentation, the soundtrack is perceived as an independent work of art.
The album "Pushkin's Dreams" is already available on leading streaming services, including Yandex Music, YouTube Music, Apple Music and Spotify.
The show "Pushkin's Dreams" is being created by the New Russian Circus in partnership with Innopraktika and the All-Russian Federation of Dance Sports, Breaking and Acrobatic Rock'n'roll with the support of Gazprombank JSC and Gazprom PJSC.
The premiere of the theatrical circus show took place in May. Since then, the show has been attended by over 50,000 viewers. The unique production can be seen until September 21, 2025. The production is based on Pushkin's fairy tales, told in the language of a trick: "Ruslan and Lyudmila", "The Tale of the dead Princess", "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", "About the fisherman and the fish", "About the priest and his employee Balda", "The Tale of the Golden Cockerel". The script of "Pushkin's Dreams" was written by the winner of the Golden Mask, one of the authors of the documentary web series "1917. Free History" and the performance Mysteries of Osiris by the London Rift Theater at the British Museum Mikhail Degtyarev.
