The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region has reclassified the criminal case after the death of football player Arseniy Yeroshevich, who was beaten in Shchelkovo. This was announced on August 23 by the press service of the department on the website.
"According to this fact <... A criminal case is being investigated on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of serious harm to health, resulting in the death of a person by negligence")," the publication says.
It is specified that law enforcement officers seized recordings from surveillance cameras that captured the incident, and also conducted interrogations of witnesses and the accused. In addition, a forensic medical examination has been scheduled.
The incident occurred on August 17 early in the morning on Proletarian Avenue in Shchelkovo. The conflict between the two sides began in a bar and continued on the street. Then a group of young men beat up a local resident, who turned out to be Yeroshevich.
At that time, a criminal case was opened under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of serious harm to health"). Later, three attackers were detained, two of them pleaded guilty.
On August 23, the footballer's sister said that Eroshevich died in the hospital. She clarified that she found out about the death of a relative when they came to visit him.
