Blogger Arsen Markarian was detained on suspicion of insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland. This was reported on August 23 in the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow are investigating a criminal case against Arsen Margaryan. He is suspected of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland committed using mass media or information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet)," the agency said in a Telegram channel.
