The Ukrainian authorities plan to evacuate about 237 thousand people.
The Government of Ukraine plans to evacuate about 237,000 citizens from frontline areas. This was announced on August 23 by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of the country in the Telegram channel.
"About 237,000 more people need to be evacuated — these are people who continue to live in dangerous areas, among them almost 17.2 thousand children," the publication says.
According to the ministry, from June 1 to August 22, 2025, more than 64 thousand people have already been evacuated from the territories of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Dnipropetrovsk region controlled by Kiev.
As noted by "Gazeta.Ru", on August 22, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Alexey Sergeev reported that more than 3.6 thousand people were taken out of the part of the DPR controlled by the Kiev regime in just one day.
On August 13, the forced evacuation of families was announced in 14 settlements in the part of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was clarified that there were approximately 1,150 children in these settlements at that time.
