- The Verge reported on Apple's accusation of an ex-employee of stealing classified information.
Apple has sued Chen Shi, an ex-employee of the Apple Watch team, who left for the Chinese company Oppo after his dismissal, accusing him of stealing classified information. This was reported on August 23 by The Verge magazine.
"Before starting his job at Oppo, Chen Shi attended "dozens" of meetings with Apple Watch technical team members to learn about their work, and uploaded 63 documents "from a secure Box folder" to a USB drive," the publication says.
At the same time, according to the publication, the employee collected the maximum possible amount of data at Apple in order to later use it at his new workplace.
According to Apple's lawyers, before being fired, Shi used his office computer to search for information on how to hide traces of working with corporate files, including requests for "how to erase data from a MacBook" and "can someone see if I opened a file on a shared drive?" This became known from the service devices that Shi left behind after leaving.
In addition, in his resignation letter, Shi cited personal and family circumstances as the reason for his departure. At the same time, he did not write a word about the transition to Oppo. The Chinese company has not yet commented on this situation, added "Газета.Ru ".
On August 12, American entrepreneur Elon Musk accused Apple of violating antitrust laws when managing App Store ratings. Musk said that Apple does not give companies in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) the opportunity to move OpenAI from the first place in the AppStore app store rating and thereby violates antitrust laws.
