The State Duma will adopt a bill banning vaping
The majority of deputies of the State Duma (State Duma) supported a complete ban on the sale of vapes, and they want to adopt a corresponding bill in the next two months. This was announced on August 23 by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin in his channel in MAX.
He recalled that Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, had asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to grant regions the right to make decisions on banning electronic cigarettes on their own. In turn, the Russian leader supported the initiative of the head of the region.
"Deputies of the State Duma from various factions have introduced legislative initiatives to completely ban vaping, but until today they have not found support in the government. After the president's decision, we will adopt the bill in the next two months," Volodin wrote.
On June 23, it was reported that State Duma deputies from the Fair Russia — For Truth faction plan to submit to the House of Parliament a package of bills aimed at introducing a complete ban on the sale of nicotine-containing products. In addition, the initiatives propose to establish administrative responsibility for the sale of vapes and electronic cigarettes. So, for sellers they want to impose a fine from 25 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, for legal entities — from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles.
