Russia is ready to assist in organizing a safe exit from the Gaza Strip, but no special evacuation measures are planned yet. This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry on August 23.

"If necessary, we are ready to assist in coordinating with the Israeli authorities practical issues of organizing their safe exit from the enclave and subsequent transit through Israel to Jordan and further to Russia," the ministry said, responding to a question from RIA Novosti regarding the Russians remaining in the Gaza Strip.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that no additional measures are planned for the evacuation of Russians.

Earlier, on August 23, the ministry reported that 67 Russians and their immediate relatives remain in the Gaza Strip. It was clarified that these were citizens who, for various reasons, did not leave during the mass evacuation at the end of 2023 after Israel launched a military operation in the Gaza Strip.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched an offensive on the city of Gaza on August 20 this year. It is located in the Palestinian semi-enclave of the same name. It was noted that Israel currently controls the outskirts of the city.
