Special exercises on the types of support for the Russian Navy were held with the participation of the Northern Fleet. The exercises were attended by Admiral Alexander Moiseev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, and Admiral Konstantin Kabantsov, Commander of the Northern Fleet. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Saturday, August 23, showed footage from the practical part of the event.
As part of the exercises, schemes for medical support for ship crews, loading missile and artillery weapons, as well as replenishing fuel and lubricants and food supplies were worked out.
The naval aviation of the Navy practiced providing units at the airfield in the Murmansk region. Training sessions were held to eliminate fires on the site, as well as to restore the runway. The elimination of the fire and the defense of the facility in the event of an enemy attack were practiced. So, the pilots promptly brought aviation equipment to alternate airfields.
The exercises are conducted under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Alexander Moiseev. In total, about 20 surface ships and support vessels, more than 20 naval aircraft, up to 300 units of military and special equipment, and over 3,000 military personnel are involved.
Earlier, on August 22, scheduled special training on the types of naval support began in the Baltic Fleet. It was clarified that during the exercises, Moiseev assessed the actions of the personnel of the logistics services of the fleet and naval aviation units to quickly restore the airfield after the use of weapons against a simulated enemy.
On August 19, the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy launched a bilateral tactical training exercise with the development of tasks for the purpose in the offshore combat training grounds of the Caspian Sea. At the first stage of the ZTU, the crews of the ships carried out emergency preparations for combat and left the base for the dispersal areas.
