In the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out an air raid, several buildings were destroyed. This was announced by Al Jazeera TV channel in its Telegram channel on Saturday, July 23.

"Israeli airstrikes and the destruction of residential buildings in the central and northern parts of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip," the report said.

Earlier, on August 22, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said that the "gates of hell" would be opened for the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip if it did not agree to Israel's terms of a cease-fire.

On the same day, Al Mayadeen correspondent Ahmad Ghanim reported specifically for Izvestia that several children were killed as a result of an Israeli strike on a school in the Sheikh Radwan area, which served as a shelter for displaced people.

At the same time, Katz said that Tel Aviv had approved an army plan to defeat Hamas in Gaza through intense fire, evacuation of the population and a ground maneuver. The military operation will continue until Hamas agrees to Israel's terms to end the conflict.

On August 21, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved plans to establish control over the city of Gaza, which is located in the Palestinian enclave of the same name. The IDF launched an offensive on Gaza on August 20. In preparation for the operation to capture Gaza, the IDF called up 60,000 soldiers from the reserve and extended the service life of 20,000 reservists.
