During his visit to Sarov on August 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Rosatom State Corporation, for his contribution to the development of the nuclear industry in Russia.

"In order to preserve and enhance this great heritage, the Rosatom State Corporation was established in 2007. Sergey Vladilenovich was engaged in its creation. Thank you, Sergey Vladilenovich," the president said.

The Head of State noted that the creation of Rosatom set the dynamics for the development of the Russian nuclear industry in the 21st century.

Earlier in the day, Putin arrived in Sarov, where one of the key enterprises for the manufacture of a nuclear weapons complex in the country, the Russian Federal Nuclear Center, the All—Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC—VNIIEF), is located Rosatom.

On the same day, he noted that Russian nuclear scientists had created a reliable nuclear shield, and Russia owed them its independent, sovereign development. The President said that almost half a million people are involved in the Russian nuclear industry, which is a "real force."
