Members of the rebel Yemeni Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) overcame Israel's air defense systems and attacked Ben Gurion International Airport. This was stated on August 22 by the armed forces of the Yahya Saria group on the air of the Al Masirah TV channel.

"The missile forces of the Yemeni armed forces conducted a unique military operation, during which they attacked the airport of Lod (Ben Gurion. - Ed.) using a hypersonic ballistic missile of the type "Palestine—2", overcoming the air defense systems of Israel," he said.

According to the report, two targets in Ashkelon and Tel Aviv were also hit using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

On August 17, the movement reported launching a missile attack on Ben Gurion Airport. The Houthi representative clarified that the attack was a response to the genocide and famine policy pursued by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
