In September, Dynamo Moscow will hold a match in support of the Far Eastern leopard, said Alexander Ovechkin, a graduate of this hockey club, during a celebration before the HC Dynamo – AK Bars meeting in preparation for the new KHL season.

According to Sergey Sushko, CEO of HC Dynamo, the club supports the initiative of the general sponsor, VTB Bank. "We want to pay attention to the problem of the Far Eastern leopard and hold one of the September matches — it will most likely be the end of September — in stylized jerseys," he said.

Sushko noted that "these rare and beautiful animals have a lot in common with hockey — they are strong, hardy, and always want to win." "Therefore, we also want to participate and contribute to the population of these wonderful, beautiful animals only growing," he said.

VTB's press service recalled that the bank has been supporting various wildlife protection projects for many years, including the Land of the Leopard National Park in Primorye.

The leopard is the rarest large cat in the world. It is listed in the Red Book. In the early 2000s, there were more than 30 individuals in Russia, now there are 120. The national park "Land of the Leopard", established in 2012, is engaged in population restoration.
