Over the past month, European countries that are members of NATO have purchased weapons from the United States and supplied Ukraine with $1.5 billion. Besides, they keep doing it. This was announced on August 22 by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Mark Rutte, during a press conference in Kiev.

"Our support is unwavering and continues to grow. Including <...> through the new List of Priority Needs of Ukraine (PURL), which supports the most important flow of lethal American weapons to Ukraine through funding provided by NATO allies," he was quoted as saying on the official NATO website.

Also, according to Rutte, after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, the alliance intends to increase the number of Armed Forces and provide Kiev with new military production facilities.

Earlier, on August 6, the United States Department of Defense's Agency for Security Cooperation (DSCA) announced that the U.S. Department of State had approved the sale of equipment and repair services for M777 howitzers to Ukraine in the amount of $104 million. It is noted that the main contractor under the contract will be BAE Systems, based in the UK.
