Overchuk estimated the share of settlements in rubles between Russia and Azerbaijan
The share of settlements between Moscow and Baku under foreign trade contracts for the period from January to May of this year amounted to 79.8%. This was announced on August 22 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission of Russia and Azerbaijan in Astrakhan.
"In January-May 2025, according to foreign trade contracts, trade in goods between residents of Russia and Azerbaijan was dominated by the Russian ruble, its share was 79.8%," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Overchuk added that the countries rely on national currencies in their mutual trade, adding "Газета.Ru ".
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 28 that relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are friendly and allied. He also expressed confidence that through joint efforts, the two countries will be able to further enhance constructive bilateral cooperation and partnership in international affairs.
