It is impossible to return to the Istanbul Agreements, because significant changes have taken place during this time. Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council's International Affairs Committee, said this on Friday, August 22. Thus, the senator spoke about one of the options for resolving the Ukrainian conflict voiced by the West.

"The continuation of the military conflict is possible if Russia's enemies continue to act in the same spirit. As for bilateral or trilateral agreements, all proposals have been made. Now those who are fighting with us must come to some common denominator," Klimov said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

According to the senator, Kiev is currently maneuvering between the opinions of Western allies and it is unclear how this will end.

"We just need to continue to solve the tasks that need to be solved. Do not stop or suspend them. And let the other side think. Because the more they think, the less conditions will change in their favor," he concluded.

On August 21, the Reuters news agency reported that the United States and a number of European countries had finalized proposals on security guarantees for Ukraine. 360.ru .

According to Reuters sources, one of the options was to send European troops to the territory of Ukraine, with the United States commanding and controlling them. The agency also writes that security options will be presented to each country's national security advisers for consideration, RT reports.
