The expert named the differences between cars for China and those supplied to Russia
Cars for the Chinese domestic market often differ from export models, which also arrive in Russia. They may be less suitable for use in Russian conditions, including due to the lack of certain options, for example, heated steering wheel and windshield. This was announced on August 22 by Sergey Ignatov, Head of Key Customer Relations at <url>.
The expert said that buying a car in Russia intended for the Chinese domestic market may be cheaper due to the difference in national and export purchase prices, the yuan exchange rate, subsidies, duties, recycling and other things. However, there are a number of features.
"There may be minor problems with Russification or Anglicization of the interface. It will be more difficult to buy spare parts, especially body parts. Therefore, it is necessary to weigh all the pros and cons and calculate the difference in price," Rossiyskaya Gazeta quoted him as saying.
For example, the Geely Coolray is called Geely Binyue L in the domestic market, and in Russia it costs about 30% less than the officially imported and adapted equivalent for the Russian Federation — 1.8 million instead of 2.8 million rubles. Such a difference, however, can cover all the disadvantages, the expert noted.
Earlier, on August 20, it was reported that the volume of used passenger car imports from China to Russia has more than quadrupled in the first seven months of this year. If at the beginning of 2025, China accounted for only about 3% of the total structure of used cars imported into the Russian Federation, then by July this figure had increased to 16%.
