The grape harvest campaign has started at five large agricultural enterprises in Sevastopol. The harvest promises to be rich and high-quality despite the spring frosts and drought, said the governor of the region Mikhail Razvozhaev.

The first grapes to be harvested are the early-ripening Muscat Amber grapes, followed by Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. They will serve as the basis for premium and sparkling wines. In the first few days, it was possible to collect more than 1 thousand tons of the product, writes IA SevastopolMedia.

In many areas, harvesting is done manually to preserve the integrity of the berries. However, more and more enterprises are introducing modern technology, including thanks to government support. In 2025, it reached 740 million rubles, which is 74 times more than in 2014. Farmers are purchasing high-tech combine harvesters capable of processing up to 15 hectares daily.

To date, Sevastopol has more than 7 thousand hectares of vineyards, of which 5 thousand are in fruiting age. The region continues to strengthen its position as one of the key centers of viticulture and winemaking in Russia, Razvozhaev added.

Earlier, Izvestia reported that online wine sales could be launched in Russia in mid-2026. The initiative has already received the support of industry associations and is being discussed at the highest level.
