The participant of the Nord Stream bombing could not be detained in Poland
In Poland, it was not possible to detain a suspect in the bombing of the Nord Streams named Vladimir S. This was reported on August 22 by the Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano.
In May 2024, the German judicial authorities issued an international arrest warrant for a suspect in the bombing of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream–2 gas pipelines named Vladimir S., TASS reports. It is assumed that he was an accomplice of a Ukrainian detained in Italy on August 21, suspected of committing sabotage.
The newspaper pointed out that a citizen of Ukraine, Vladimir S. He was spotted on the outskirts of the German capital, but fled to Poland. The local police, despite the warrant, were unable to detain the suspect, and he fled to his homeland.
On August 21, on a warrant from Germany, Italian police officers detained Ukrainian Sergei K. in the case of the attack on the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The German prosecutor's office stressed that the man was allegedly one of the coordinators of the operation.
The Italian media pointed out that the group consisted of five people, including a woman, to cover up so that the expedition looked like a boat trip. The criminals used a sailing yacht as a vehicle.
On September 26, 2022, damage was recorded on three lines of the Nord Stream and the non–commissioned Nord Stream-2. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has opened a case on an act of international terrorism. The Russian side is convinced that the West, including Germany, is not interested in investigating the bombing of Nord Streams.
