EU transferred more than €4 billion to Ukraine by Independence Day
The European Union (EU) has transferred two tranches totaling €4.05 billion to Ukraine. On August 22, this was reported on the official website of the European Commission (EC).
"The EU is sending another powerful signal of unwavering support by allocating €4.05 billion to the country. This includes €3.05 billion through the Fund for Ukraine and €1 billion through the European Commission's exceptional Macro—financial Assistance (MFA)," the statement said.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, noted that this assistance is timed to coincide with the Independence Day of Ukraine.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced on July 1 that since the beginning of 2025, the European Union has transferred about €1.9 billion from revenues from Russian assets to Ukraine. It was clarified that the funds were allocated to the Ukrainian side to finance the production of weapons.
On August 10, American Vice President Jay Dee Vance, in turn, clarified that US President Donald Trump wants to stop financing the Ukrainian crisis and achieve a peaceful settlement. He clarified that Americans are tired of spending money and taxes on the conflict.
