On August 27, at 12:00 on Cinema Day, a photo exhibition will open on Tsvetnoy Boulevard dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Zeldin, a unique long-lived Soviet and Russian film and theater art.

The project was prepared by the Moscow Department of Culture, the Moscow Directorate of Mass Events and the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army.

Vladimir Zeldin became not only the patriarch of Russian art, securely connecting the cultural space of the country, but also a symbol of theatrical and cinema art of the entire post-Soviet space. Zeldin is considered to be the world's oldest actor who appeared on stage before the age of 101.

The exhibition introduces the artist's creative biography. Throughout his long and well-deserved life, almost 90 creative years, Vladimir Zeldin served in the Theater of the Russian Army, celebrating his 100th anniversary on the stage of the theater. The artist was accepted to the Central Theater of the Red Army for the first time in 1941, and his continuous career in the theater began in 1945, shortly before the end of the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition reveals Vladimir Zeldin's talent as a theater artist and a great master of reincarnation and psychological transformation, as well as the secrets of his work in cinema with Andrei Konchalovsky, Stanislav Govorukhin, Vadim Derbenev, Alexander Belinsky and other directors, his concert and patronage trips to cities and military units from Vladivostok to Italy.

The uniqueness of the exhibition consists in the collection of preserved publications about Vladimir Zeldin's roles in the central and regional publications of the Soviet Union and Russia from the 50s of the last century to the present day - Krasnaya Zvezda, Evening Moscow, Izvestia, Soviet Siberia, Musical Life, Nezavisimaya Gazeta, as well as numerous interviews with the artist and excerpts from his book "My profession: Don Quixote."

The winner of many awards and medals, a sought-after public figure who brought to new generations the philosophy of the highest acting skills, a writer and a wonderful storyteller, Vladimir Zeldin gave us a unique layer of Moscow culture, which continues to develop after his passing.
