Death toll during bridge construction in China increased to 12

At least 12 people died as a result of rope breakage during construction work on a bridge in China. This was announced on August 22 by the Chinese state television channel CCTV.

According to the TV channel, the construction rope broke on the Jianzhi Bridge over the Yellow River. At the moment, 12 people are listed as dead, four more are missing.

Search and rescue operations are continuing at the scene.

The incident that occurred in Qinghai Province on the Jianzha Bridge became known earlier in the day. At that time, six people were reported dead and 10 missing. A total of 66 vehicles, 23 boats and 386 people were involved in the rescue.
