NYP reported searches at the home of Trump's ex-national security aide Bolton
Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have raided the home of former US President Donald Trump's national security aide John Bolton. This was reported by The New York Post (NYP) on August 22.
"Federal agents broke into Bolton's home in Bethesda, Maryland, <...>..> as part of an investigation conducted by order of FBI Director Cash Patel," the article says.
According to preliminary information, an investigation is underway against Bolton, which concerns classified documents. The publication writes that the trial was launched several years ago, but the administration of former American leader Joe Biden closed it "for political reasons."
On July 8, the FBI launched a criminal investigation into former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey. It was noted that the current director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, handed over evidence of Brennan's offenses to Patel for further prosecution.
