A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has not yet been scheduled, but it may take place when the relevant agenda is ready. This was announced on August 22 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"The meeting is not scheduled. <...> Putin is ready to meet with Zelensky when the agenda for the summit is ready. This agenda is not ready at all," the Russian Foreign Minister said in an interview with NBC News.

According to Lavrov, a "presidential agenda" will be needed for the meeting of the two leaders. He also noted that it is Ukraine that is preventing a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

"The President [of the United States Donald] After Anchorage, Trump proposed several points on which we share opinions, and on some of them we agreed to show some flexibility," Lavrov added.

The day before, Lavrov said that Putin was ready to hold talks with Zelensky if all issues requiring discussion at the highest level were well worked out. Lavrov recalled that the Ukrainian leader has not yet revoked the decree, which explicitly prohibits contact with the President of the Russian Federation.
