"Along with high temperatures, the volume of Chinese exports of air conditioners to the continent is also growing, the volume of which increased by almost 60% in July compared to the same period last year," the material says.

The heat wave demonstrated Europe's unpreparedness for extreme temperatures, while increasing demand for air conditioners, the authors noted.

The publication analyzed Google Trends data, from which it follows that last month the online search on the website of the leading Chinese manufacturer of air conditioners Midea reached a five-year high in France, Spain and Italy. In particular, in Spain, the growth in the number of search queries reached 138%.
