The new rules that will be introduced in Russia for cash withdrawals from September 1 will help protect people from attacks by intruders. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation informed Izvestia about this on August 22.

"The introduction of a limit on cash withdrawals through an ATM for 48 hours in the range of 50 thousand rubles per day is aimed at protecting people from fraudsters as much as possible. After the bank has suspended the transaction, it immediately notifies the client of the reasons. Thus, the bank sends a signal that the operation may be carried out under the influence of fraudsters," the regulator explained.

The restriction can be introduced only if the bank's employees suspect the influence of scammers. When checking, they will be guided by a special list of signs of such operations. Earlier it was reported that these include atypical behavior, a request for money within a day after receiving a loan, information that card data has been compromised, and other signals.

The Central Bank added that at the bank branch, the client will communicate with employees who will be able to warn him about the likelihood of fraudulent influence and dissuade him from making a monetary transaction. Within two days, a person will be able to understand the situation, consult with their loved ones and realize the need to withdraw money.

Earlier, on August 21, the Central Bank of Russia identified signs of fraudulent transactions when withdrawing cash from ATMs. These include uncharacteristic behavior when withdrawing money, a change in phone conversation activity six hours before the operation, withdrawing money within a day after applying for a loan or loan, and an increase in the cash withdrawal limit.
