Over the past day, 328 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 43 people were killed and 414 injured. This was reported to Izvestia on August 22 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

18 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no dead people, 21 more road users, including one child, needed medical help. The reason for the five incidents were traffic violations committed by bus drivers. As a result of 72 accidents involving pedestrians, seven people were killed, and 69 more were injured in various degrees of severity. There are 27 children among the injured, 15 of them were injured at pedestrian crossings. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 29 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 43 outside their area of operation.

63 accidents involving minors were registered, 71 young road users were injured, including 27 pedestrians, 23 passengers and 20 underage drivers. As a result of the accident, one child died. For example, in Bashkiria, a 15-year-old moped driver, who had never been granted a license, drove into the oncoming lane without a helmet, where he collided with a truck. As a result of the accident, the teenager died from his injuries at the scene.

On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate drew the attention of parents to the need to ensure the maximum safety of their children during the summer holidays, a period when schoolchildren who are resting from classes spend a lot of free time outside, and as a result, they are more likely to get into car accidents. Lack of control over children's behavior and leisure activities in summer, especially in the evening, often leads to injuries or even death of young road users.

Parents were urged to strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers without experience, confident driving skills and solid knowledge of traffic rules to use means of individual mobility, and even more so to drive on public roads. The department drew attention to the administrative responsibility for allowing children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category to drive motor vehicles.

"When driving in a populated area or near pedestrian crossings, drivers need to be extremely careful and reduce their speed as much as possible in order to have time to react to a possible sudden change in the road situation. Motorists and motorcyclists should be especially careful when passing intersections, since the behavior of child and adolescent drivers using bicycles, scooters and personal mobility equipment is often unpredictable due to age and child psychology," said Police Colonel Anton, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child Traffic Injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Belan.

The day before, it was reported that the old driving school training programs will be in effect for at least another six months. The relevant order of the Ministry of Education was approved by the Ministry of Justice. It was planned that they would come into force on September 1 of this year.
