Nine-year-old Valya Korolev, who suffered from a husky attack in Adler, was discharged from the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital Moscow. This was announced on August 22 by the press service of the medical institution in its Telegram channel.
It is specified that the surgical stage of the boy's treatment consisted of five operations. For almost six months, hospital doctors have been fighting for the child's health.
"We have completed the reconstructive stage to restore the patient's external nose, the integrity of the cheeks and the oral mucosa, and Valya was discharged home in stable condition," said Anton Narbutov, head of the Department of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the RCB.
The next stage, which the specialists will begin in a few months, will include the reconstruction of the upper lip and nasolabial triangle. During this time, the publication notes, the boy's tissues will mature, necessary for further use in reconstruction.
An attack by two huskies on a nine-year-old child took place in Sochi on February 26. The dogs were unattended by the owner, they were driven away from the boy by passers-by. A schoolboy with multiple lacerations to his face was taken to a hospital in Krasnodar. A criminal case was opened into the incident. The victim underwent surgery. The doctor sewed up one vessel with a diameter of about 0.1 mm for the boy.
On February 27, the husky's owner admitted that he had not fed them for 12 days. The man clarified that the dogs were on a long leash. According to him, the animals got out of the site through a tunnel under the fence. At that time, the dogs had already been euthanized.
On May 5, the prosecutor's office of the Krasnodar Territory announced that the husky owner could be sentenced to up to three years in prison. He is charged under Part 1 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing serious harm to health by negligence"). The child's legal representative also filed a civil lawsuit to compensate for the damage caused to his health, as well as to receive compensation for the moral damage caused.
