Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. During the week, the Russian army, using high-precision weapons and attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), carried out six group strikes against enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine and energy facilities that ensure their operation, an oil refinery that supplies fuel to groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Donbas, and Sapsan missile storage depots, fuel, rocket and artillery weapons, and long-range drones.

The Zapad group of troops liberated the village of Kolodezi in the DPR. As a result of the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 1,650 militants, five tanks, 28 armored combat vehicles, 118 vehicles, 11 field artillery guns, a Grad multiple rocket launcher combat vehicle, 39 electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations, as well as 35 ammunition depots.

In addition, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses, liberated the settlements of Alexandro-Shultino and Katerinovka in the DPR and defeated the manpower and equipment of six mechanized, airmobile, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the air defense brigade and the National Guard brigade.

"Units of the Center group of forces continued their offensive operations and liberated the settlements of Sukhetskoye, Pankovka, Vladimirovka and Rusin Yar of the Donetsk People's Republic. <...> Units of the Vostok group of forces, as a result of active and decisive actions, liberated the settlements of Voronoye and Novogeorgievka, Dnipropetrovsk region," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Air defense systems, in turn, shot down 25 guided aerial bombs, 11 US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, as well as 1.5 thousand aircraft-type drones in a week.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 665 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 78,990 UAVs, 625 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,717 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,588 multiple rocket launchers, 28,809 field artillery and mortars, 40,158 special vehicles.
