Balloons with the Russian tricolor were lifted into the sky over Velikiye Luki
A large-scale patriotic action "Colors of the Motherland" was held on August 22, on the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation, in Velikiye Luki, Pskov region. In the morning, balloons with the Russian tricolor 35 m long rose into the sky over the city.
As the Pskov news feed notes with reference to the Aeronautics | Velikiye Luki Telegram channel, the action was held on the territory of the City Fortress.
It was organized by the city administration, ANO PO "Center for Youth and Public Initiatives" and the Federation of Aeronautical Sports.
On the same day, it was reported that a giant tricolor appeared on Titovskaya Hill in Chita on the eve of the National Flag Day of Russia. The symbol of the state, measuring 25 m, was deployed by employees and veterans of the region's law enforcement agencies. It was made in one of the correctional institutions specifically for this action. Before the flag-raising ceremony, a car rally was held with sirens on.
National Flag Day in Russia is celebrated on August 22. The holiday appeared relatively recently — in August 1994 — although the history of the Russian flag dates back more than 300 years.
