The water level in the Chita River has risen by 10-14 cm as of Friday morning, August 22. The rise of water was recorded in the villages of Burgen and Shishkino of the Chita district, according to the official portal of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

Measurements are carried out twice a day — in the morning and in the evening, writes ChitaMedia news agency. During the flood season, their frequency increases.

Water level monitoring in regional reservoirs is carried out to prevent possible flooding.

In early August, it was reported that more than 60 km of dams were erected in Transbaikalia to protect settlements from floods. Dozens more kilometers of similar structures have been restored.
