Oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary have been stopped again due to an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on August 22 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

"Last night we received news of another attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline on the Russian—Belarusian border, the third in a short period of time, <...> This is another attack on the energy security of our country," Szijjarto wrote on Facebook (the social network belongs to Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The minister called the attack an attempt to draw Hungary into the conflict and said it would not work, noting that Budapest would continue to support efforts to establish peace in Ukraine.

On August 18, Szijjarto accused Ukraine of violating Hungary's interests by attacking Druzhba. He also urged not to forget that most of the electricity is supplied from Hungary to Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on Ukraine's attack on Druzhba, stressed that the Kiev regime would stop at nothing in its actions.
