US President Donald Trump intends to determine in about two weeks whether it is possible to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He announced this on August 21 on the air to radio host Todd Starness.

According to the American leader, based on the results of this assessment, Washington may decide to change its approach to the Ukrainian crisis.

"I would say that within two weeks we will know in one way or another [it is possible to resolve the conflict]. After that, we may have to take a different approach," Trump said.

On the same day, The Guardian newspaper reported that Trump intends to temporarily move away from the peaceful conflict settlement process in order to allow Moscow and Kiev to hold a bilateral meeting at the presidential level.

On August 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced Russia's readiness to continue negotiations with Ukraine to resolve the conflict, if this work is honest. He noted that Moscow is ready to discuss with Kiev the political aspects of resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
