Sakhalin hosted a flash mob in honor of the National Flag Day of Russia
In honor of the Russian National Flag Day, a patriotic flash mob was held on Sakhalin. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on August 22.
The action took place on the territory of the Mountain Air sports complex. It was organized by the efforts of about 50 athletes, coaches, as well as parents and children from the Omega youth movement. The participants of the flash mob unfurled the 12-meter flag of the Russian Federation on one of the sites of the complex.
The Russian tricolor was also spotted in Tikhaya Bay and not far from the Klokovsky Waterfall. Thus, the organizers wanted to emphasize the importance of the state symbols of the Russian Federation, as well as their role in the history of the country.
The festival, dedicated to the National Flag Day, is held annually in the Sakhalin Region and unites the youth of the region.
On August 22, Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov, Alexey Zubritsky and Oleg Platonov recorded a congratulatory video on the occasion of the holiday aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on August 22. They concluded their congratulations with a joint message "Happy holidays!"
A day earlier, on the eve of the holiday, Vladimir Shapovalov, a member of the Russian Association of Political Consultants and project manager of the EISI, noted that the tricolor is a symbol that historically unites the inhabitants of the country.
