On August 22, servicemen of the 4th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces reported on the liberation of the settlement of Alexandro-Shultino in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"The village is relatively low-lying. The detection was quite difficult, but thanks to the hard work of the entire battalion, they were slowly knocked out from the flanks, bypassed," said a fighter with the call sign Habik.

It is noted that the operation was competently and thoughtfully planned. Prior to the assault, the military conducted aerial reconnaissance and inflicted fire damage based on the intelligence received.

"When the enemy was already weakened, we delivered the finishing blow. We entered the settlement and occupied it," said a soldier with the call sign Physicist in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Zimenkin.

The release of Alexandro-Shultino became known earlier in the day. It was clarified that the military also defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized, mountain assault, and airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy was defeated in the areas of the settlements of Seversk, Markovo, Nikolaevka, Minkovka and Vasyukovka in the DPR.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the liberation of the village. During the assault, enemy firing points were destroyed with the support of artillery and drone units.
