Rubio announced the termination of the issuance of work visas for foreign truckers
On August 21, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the suspension of the issuance of work visas for foreign commercial transport drivers.
"From now on, we are suspending the issuance of work visas to commercial truck drivers. The growing number of foreign drivers driving large tractor—trailers on U.S. roads is putting Americans' lives at risk," he wrote on the social network X.
Rubio also noted that the presence of foreign truckers does not allow American commercial transport drivers to develop in their country.
Earlier, on August 19, the US State Department cancelled more than 6 thousand international student visas, of which 4 thousand were terminated from citizens of foreign countries that violated the laws of the United States. Earlier, the administration of US President Donald Trump suspended the appointment for an interview for international students. But in June, when the measures were lifted, it was announced that applicants would be asked to make their social media accounts publicly available for enhanced verification.
