A teacher has been detained in Germany for 16 years of paid sick leave.
In Germany, the supreme administrative court is considering the case of a teacher who spent 16 years on sick leave and received a salary. This was reported on August 21 by the newspaper Der Spiegel.
It is noted that she needs to undergo a medical examination and a full examination in order to continue her teaching career.
"A teacher from the Ruhr region who has been on sick leave since 2009, <...> must be examined by a departmental doctor," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, the woman appealed the decision. According to the accused, there is no reason to undergo an examination, since she considers it strange that the federal state only after 16 years of disability considered it necessary to send a teacher to a polyclinic.
Despite the appeal, as reported by Spiegel, the court found it necessary to undergo an examination. The results will determine the teacher's future fate: she will either return to fulfilling her work obligations or retire due to disability.
Earlier, on May 29, in the Czech Republic, a teacher was sentenced to probation for pro-Russian statements. It is noted that after three years of litigation, a court in Prague sentenced Bednarzhova to time for disagreement with the official position of the Czech authorities on the conflict in Ukraine. It is reported that the woman expressed her position at a stylistics lesson in elementary school. According to the judge, if the teacher had expressed her position privately, "she probably would not have been held accountable."
