The Caspian Seasons Art Festival will be held in Astrakhan from August 19 to 30
The International Festival of Classical Art "Caspian Seasons" will be held in Astrakhan for the fifth time from August 19 to 30.
It is noted that the grand opening of the event will be held on August 22 at 20:00 on the Cathedral Square of the Astrakhan Kremlin. For the first time on the domestic stage, a mirror composite of 8 thousand stripes of reflective elements is used. There will be 53 solo parts in the production, and 500 people, including 200 volunteers, will take part in the organization of the opening. Six-meter decorations with a total weight of 6 tons will be used.
The festival will include concerts at various venues in Astrakhan. The audience will hear the stars of the world opera scene, famous artists from five countries and the symphony orchestra of the Caspian Littoral states conducted by Mikhail Golikov, People's Artist of Kabardino-Balkaria.
The culmination of the Caspian Seasons festival will be the premiere of the opera "War and Peace" by Sergei Prokofiev, which the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater will show in the open air in the Astrakhan Kremlin. The production is being implemented as part of the Russian Operas in the Astrakhan Kremlin project, which started in 2012.
On July 25, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin invited the Caspian littoral countries to jointly solve the problem of shallowing the Caspian Sea and work on creating a long-term model for predicting fluctuations in its level. The Russian Prime Minister called on countries to pay attention to the protection of rare species of animals and plants.
