- The media forum "History of the Caspian Sea: from the past to the Future" will be held in Astrakhan on August 22
On August 22, Astrakhan will host the 10th anniversary Caspian Media Forum, dedicated to the theme "The History of the Caspian Sea: from the past to the future." The event will take place at the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The program of the media forum includes a plenary session moderated by TASS CEO Andrey Kondrashov, as well as four sessions. The experts plan to discuss a number of important issues, including the further development of logistical ties between the states of the Caspian region, the balance of ecology and energy, as well as the training of highly qualified specialists in the media sphere.
It is noted that representatives of government authorities, scientists, experts, journalists and leaders of public organizations from the Caspian Littoral countries and Uzbekistan will participate in the media forum.
In addition, as part of the event, the Union of Journalists of Russia will hold an Inforum, a series of professional sessions dedicated to current trends and challenges in the modern media sphere. The results of the contest for the best journalistic work "Caspian Sea without Borders" will also be summed up.
Earlier, on July 25, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin invited the Caspian littoral countries to jointly solve the problem of shallowing the Caspian Sea and work on creating a long-term model for forecasting fluctuations in its level. The Russian Prime Minister called on countries to pay attention to the protection of rare species of animals and plants.
