The prosecutor requested 12.5 years in prison for General Ogloblin.

The prosecutor asked the court to convict the former head of the Communications Planning Department (1st Directorate) of the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Major General Alexander Ogloblin, and sentence him to 12 years and six months in prison in a case of bribery. This was reported to Izvestia on August 21 at the 235th garrison military court.

The state prosecution requested a time limit, taking into account Ogloblin's previous sentence. In February 2022, the Moscow Garrison Military Court sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison for embezzlement. Subsequently, the Moscow City Court released Ogloblin after he testified in the case of General Vadim Shamarin. The court replaced his unserved term in the colony with correctional labor.

According to investigators, Oglobin received a bribe of more than 10 million rubles from representatives of JSC Perm Telephone Plant Telta in the period from 2016 to 2021. For this, the defendant promised general patronage in the execution of a multimillion-dollar state defense order for the supply of communication devices for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.

The defendants stole more than 25 million rubles from the Ministry of Defense and the convention and exhibition center.

In July 2024, at a court hearing, Shamarin pleaded guilty and entered into a pre-trial agreement.

On April 17, the Moscow garrison military Court sentenced him to seven years in a high-security penal colony in a case of receiving a large bribe. Then Shamarin was banned from holding certain positions for seven years. The court also confiscated the general's property in the amount of about 36 million rubles. On August 20, Shamarin testified against Ogloblin.
