Turkish ports have begun to require shipping agents to provide documents confirming that the ships in transit are not connected to Israel and do not carry military or dangerous goods. This was reported on August 21 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.

"The port captain's office verbally instructed the port agents to provide written guarantees, adding that there was no official circular on the matter," the publication says.

It is specified that this instruction applies to ports throughout Turkey. Ships arriving directly from Israel will no longer be allowed to enter Turkish ports, and ships flying the Turkish flag will no longer be allowed to enter Israeli ports.

In response, the movement's leaders demand the release of the Palestinian hostages and the withdrawal of the Israeli military.

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on August 14 that the Western world does not show sensitivity to the situation in Gaza, which it shows in relation to the Ukrainian crisis. He also noted that if the West had paid as much attention to Gaza as to Ukraine, "today we would have a completely different picture" in the enclave.
