- A satellite event of the V Congress of Young Scientists will be held in Tula.
From August 26 to 28, Tula will host a satellite event of the V Congress of Young Scientists, the key event of the Decade of Science and Technology announced by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in 2022-2031. The Congress of Young Scientists is being held within the framework of the national project "Youth and Children". The regional capital will become one of the satellite hosting cities in 2025.
Satellite events within the framework of the Congress are held annually in order to involve the Russian scientific community in solving the most important tasks of the regions of Russia. During the satellite events, experts develop practical projects based on scientific research and development to solve regional problems.
"The Tula Region is one of the centers for the implementation of key national projects aimed at Russia's technological leadership. These are the projects "Unmanned aircraft systems" and "New Materials and Chemistry". It is a great honor for us to host the satellite event of the Congress of Young Scientists. With the support of Governor Dmitry Milyaev, comprehensive work is underway in the region to build scientific potential – the state program for scientific and technological development of the Tula region is being implemented. I am confident that the event will give an additional impetus to the development of key industries and ensure technological leadership," said Mikhail Panteleev, First Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Government of the Tula Region.
In Tula, leading researchers from all over the country will develop technological solutions to improve the environmental situation in the region, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for the sustainable development of agricultural production and the use of nature-like biotechnologies to solve industrial and agricultural problems. In particular, experts will propose tools to combat the spread of Sosnovsky hogweed in the Tula region, ways to use new composite materials for filtration of wastewater and gas mixtures at industrial facilities in the region and disposal of spent composites, as well as technologies for the treatment of hazardous waste from water treatment for their environmentally friendly disposal at landfills. Scientists will visit the infrastructure facilities of the region in the areas of work.
In addition, the All-Russian Forum "Historical Memory of the Great Patriotic War: Preservation and Transmission" will be held as part of the satellite event, which will be dedicated to the regional historical and cultural standard.
