Near Kaliningrad, specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations neutralized an aerial bomb from the war

Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations have defused an aerial bomb from the Great Patriotic War (WWII) in the Kaliningrad region. This was announced on August 21 by the press service of the regional headquarters of the department in the Telegram channel.

It is specified that the WWII find was discovered during mine clearance work in the forest area of the Baltic City district.

"Specialists from the search and rescue squad and the Nevsky Rescue Center participated in the destruction of the FAB-50 ammunition," the publication says.

According to the ministry, since the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has eliminated 48 aerial bombs in the region.

Among the declassified archival materials are data on Hitler's Germany's preparations for war, unique campaign maps and evidence of Nazi atrocities.

Earlier, on August 8, an aircraft bomb weighing 100 kg from the time of the Second World War was defused in the Mozdoksky district of the Republic of North Ossetia. It was clarified that the ammunition was discovered by ploughmen. Then the specialists eliminated the 100 kilogram aerial bomb by detonation.
