Since the beginning of the year, tow trucks from the Moscow Parking lot have moved almost 24,000 premium-class cars to special parking lots. Those who most often leave cars under forbidding signs, on sidewalks and places for the disabled, were BMW car drivers. On August 21, the metropolitan Department of Transport announced this in its Telegram channel.

Among the premium models, BMW (7.7 thousand times), Mercedes-Benz (7 thousand times), Audi (3.8 thousand times), Lexus (1.8 thousand times) and Range Rover (1.5 thousand times) cars were most often found in special parking lots. The decision to evacuate cars is made by inspectors from the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate (MADI) and the Traffic police.

Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy Mayor for Transport, stressed that all cars that are parked in violation of the rules of stopping and parking, regardless of the make or cost of the car, are being moved to special parking lots. This helps to reduce the risk of road accidents, he noted.

Earlier, on August 4, it was reported that MADI inspectors had seized almost 1.6 thousand taxi cars from unscrupulous carriers since the beginning of the year under Article 27.10 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. In seven months of this year, inspectors examined about 18 thousand taxi cars.
